Salonify POS Help

Everything you need to run your till

Quick reference for Salonify POS — the Android app, the web cash register at pos.salonify.eu, and Tap to Pay on iPhone for the upcoming iOS release.

Quick start

Open Salonify POS on your phone (or pos.salonify.eu on a shop PC), sign in with your Salonify owner account, pick the salon, open a register session, and start ringing up customers. Each session is reconciled at the end of the day — cash count + card total + voids + refunds = your daily report.

Tap to Pay on iPhone (iOS — preview)

Tap to Pay on iPhone turns a compatible iPhone (XS or later, iOS 17.6+) into a contactless card terminal. There is no extra hardware. The merchant accepts Apple's Terms and Conditions once on the device — after that, customers can pay by holding their card, Apple Pay, or Google Pay to the back of the iPhone.

  • Set up: Tools → Tap to Pay on iPhone → Set up now
  • How to charge: open the till, add items, tap the "Tap to Pay on iPhone" button at checkout
  • Where the customer taps: hold the card or phone to the back of the iPhone, just above the camera
  • PIN: some cards may prompt for PIN entry on the iPhone screen — Apple's PIN UI supports VoiceOver and larger text
  • Refunds: from the transaction in the till — no need to re-tap the card

Web cash register (pos.salonify.eu)

Same till as the mobile apps, in any modern browser. Touch-friendly grid for products and services, a custom-amount entry with VAT picker, customer search, per-item and total discounts, and a full transaction history with one-click refund.

Wireless POS — pair phone and PC

Build the cart on the PC and take the card on the phone. From the till's Tools tab, generate a 6-digit pairing code on the phone, enter it in the PC's wireless-POS view, and the carts stay in sync live. Useful for the front-desk + chair workflow.

Sessions, cash drawer and reconciliation

Open a register session at the start of the day with your starting cash. Every cash sale increments the cash drawer; every refund decrements it. At the end of the day, the close-session dialog asks you to count your cash and compares it to the system's running total. Any difference is recorded as Kassendifferenz on the daily report.

Receipts and refunds

Every transaction can send a digital receipt by email or SMS. The receipt page also exposes a Share action (AirDrop, Notes, Mail, Messages, third-party apps). Refunds reverse the original charge — for card sales, the refund hits the same card the customer paid with. Partial refunds are supported.

Transaction cost

Card payments carry a bundled transaction cost per successful charge. See the rate card at salonify.eu/for-business/pos-system. Cash is always free. Refunds reverse the fee on the original transaction.

Daily report and accountant export

The daily report is one clean breakdown your bookkeeper expects: gross → voids → refunds → net cashflow, with VAT split by rate and payment mix split by card brand (Visa, Mastercard, Amex, Cash). Export as CSV (Excel-DE friendly + International) or print-ready PDF with the full transaction list.

Sign in and roles

Salonify uses one account across the platform — the credentials that sign you into salonify.eu and the dashboard also sign you into the POS app. Owners get full access. Staff get a PIN-lock per cashier (set in your salon settings) and reduced permissions (no register-close, no refund without owner PIN).

Troubleshooting

If a card is declined, check the message Apple/Salonify Payments surfaces — it almost always names the cause (insufficient funds, network timeout, contactless temporarily blocked, etc.). If Tap to Pay on iPhone shows "Tap to Pay isn't available right now", confirm the device is on iOS 17.6+, the app has location and Bluetooth permissions, and the merchant has accepted Apple's Terms and Conditions on this device.

Common questions

Which iPhones support Tap to Pay on iPhone?
iPhone XS or later running iOS 16.4 or later. iOS 17.6+ is recommended for the most current Tap to Pay on iPhone feature set.
Do I need extra hardware to accept cards?
On a supported iPhone, no — Tap to Pay on iPhone uses the built-in NFC reader. On Android, Salonify POS uses Salonify Payments Terminal's Tap to Pay on Android, also no extra hardware. A Bluetooth receipt printer is optional.
Does Salonify POS work offline?
Cash sales and item entry work fully offline and sync when the device reconnects. Card payments need a live connection — both for the card network and for fraud-detection signals.
Where do I configure VAT rates?
VAT rates are set per service and per product in the Salonify dashboard (dashboard.salonify.eu → Catalog). Luxembourg's default rates (17%, 14%, 8%, 3%) are pre-configured; you can override per item.
How do I link a booking to a till transaction?
From the till, open the Bookings tab, pick today's booking, and either close it as paid (if it was paid online) or add extras and charge the difference. The transaction record stays linked to the booking for reporting.
Where do I get the iPhone version of Salonify POS?
The iPhone version is in the App Review pipeline. Once Apple grants the publishing entitlement for Tap to Pay on iPhone, we will distribute it via an Unlisted-Apps link emailed to each onboarded salon.
